At sunset, only a few stars were visible. Two or three shown brightly and I snapped this photo.

The beauty of these single stars was breathtaking.

Moments later after the sun had tucked in completely behind the horizon, the night sky exploded with millions upon millions of stars…so many and so beautiful.

The beauty of the thousands was breathtaking.

This morning I want you to know that I see us like that.

We are beautiful and wonderful standing singly and alone. We are special and we matter.

We are also beautiful and wonderful surrounded by each other in this blanket of humanity, small and seemingly inconsequential…and yet a massive force of nature.

There have been a handful of moments in my life…where I felt God/Universe/Love’s presence so deeply that a little something in me shifted…and last night peering up at the night sky in Big Bend Ranch State Park…was one of them.

Good morning friends.

“The cosmos is within us. We are made of star-stuff. We are a way for the universe to know itself.”
