This photo reminds me of a Girls on the Run 5k event I attended in rural Missouri quite a few years ago.
Folks were milling around the finish line, high-fiving, laughing when all of a sudden the girls (remember, they are 8, 9, and 10 year olds) began galloping (and slapping their own backsides) as kids do when thy are pretending to be horses.
I joined in on the fun because who doesn’t want to pretend to be a horse every once in a while…until I realized what’s prompted their frivolity and giddy up galloping was a song popular on the radio at that time and being played (quite innocently might I add) by the young D.J.
“What song might that be,” you ask.
“Save a Horse, Ride a Cowboy” by Big and Rich.
Yeah. THAT song. By the time I figured out what was going on, the D.J had moved on to Taylor Swift, which in hindsight was probably similar in content, just bubble-gummed down to be less obvious. 😂😳😒
Good Monday morning friends.
