They’re Chewing My Shoes

Every morning I meditate.

And this morning I tried three different times to get going and all three times, for whatever reason, the dogs decided they were having none of it.

So for my last attempt, I set the timer for fifteen minutes instead of thirty.

For about 6 minutes everybody was good and then the squirmies started.

TJ started drinking from the toilet bowl. Pixie was digging on the floor from underneath the couch and Abigail was passing some serious gas.

I stayed with the meditation for as long as I could and then I just started laughing.

This is life. Right? How to stay grounded amidst all the turmoil.

And so now, I’m sitting in the bathroom, with the door closed trying to write this post while whatever is happening out side of the door happens.

And I’m laughing out loud.

OKAY. OKAY. I HEAR YOU LOUD AND CLEAR.

Sometimes peace can be found even while the dogs are chewing on your shoes.

“Do not let the behavior of others destroy your inner peace.”

~Dalai Lama.
